At Just For You Fine Lingerie we have a three step check:
If your boobs are bulging out over the top or the sides, this is a sure sign that you are wearing a cup size too small. Your boobs should be enclosed in the cups of the bra.
If your bra rides up your back or moves around and your straps are falling off your shoulders, you are wearing a back size too big. It should fit you snugly.
If the wires stick out at the front or dig in under your arms, again the cup size is too small.
Straps digging into your shoulders and leaving red marks. Your straps are not the main support for your boobs, you could be wearing too big of a back. Alternatively you could try loosening the straps.
Cups are wrinkly. If it is a horizontal wrinkle your straps could be too loose/long. A vertical wrinkle could mean your cup is too big or the back too loose. A diagonal wrinkle is a combination of both the above so both back and cup size should be changed.
If you would like more help with choosing the right bra then visit Just For You Fine Lingerie. We are open seven days a week. Allow yourself at least 30 minutes for a fitting.
Avoid wearing your bra more then twice between washings. The elastic in even the finest bras needs to “recover” after a day of wear.
Have a minimum of three basic bras one to wear, one to wash, and another ready to alternate.
Hand wash your lingerie in a delicate detergent like Forever New designed for bras and fine lingerie. Normal detergents and bleaches or even delicate soaps can destroy elastic and lace.
Always air dry as heat can destroy the elastic.
Do not wring out or twist the garment to remove excess water.
Machine washing and drying risk destroying fibers and elasticity, but if you must use a wash bag and always fasten the hook at the back.
Rinsing garments in cool water will restore its stretch.
